But Beyonce Knowles counts daughter Blue Ivy as her biggest success and battled to hold back tears as she opened up to Oprah Winfrey.
During her Oprah’s Next Chapter interview which aired on OWN on Saturday evening, the singer spoke frankly about her life as a mother.

She told the media mogul about giving birth to her one-year-old: ‘It's what I’m most proud of and it just made everything make sense to me. I couldn’t imagine my life if I did not have my daughter.’
Explaining that the movie was three years in the works, she said: ‘My story did not feel complete and I didn't know why but ... after I gave birth I looked at my diaries and everything made sense.

‘There are so many connections in the film that I didn't realise until I gave birth. Everything just completely connected and I said now know who I am ... I wasn’t complete before my daughter.’
While Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z opted out of selling the first pictures of their baby, they have shared snaps of Blue Ivy online via her Tumblr account.
Although fans have been able to interpret the tot’s personality from those images, Beyonce told Oprah more about her personality.

An emotional Bey said about being a parent: ‘It's so much joy and I have my best friend. She is hilarious and she is fire. I didn't expect her to be fire but lord I’m a have me a time. She’s beautiful.’
In her documentary, the star talks about having a miscarriage with her first pregnancy before Blue Ivy.
Beyonce said she wanted to share the experience on camera because the tragedy is something many women go through.

‘I felt like there are so many couples that go through that and it was a big part of my story it was one of the hardest things I’ve been through.
‘It's one of the reasons I did not share I was pregnant the second time and... it was hard. So many people go through it and at the end I have my daughter and there is hope and I feel so fortunate.’
The star went on to confess that she was worried about losing her child again as she continued with her work commitments throughout her second pregnancy.
She told Oprah: ‘I did [live in fear of miscarrying again]. I was afraid but my doctor told me I was healthy... and to live my life and that’s what I did.’

Full of fire: The singer shared that her daughter is already a feisty one
With her rapper spouse enjoying fatherhood so much, Beyonce is planning on adding to her brood.
She said about her partner, whose real name is Sean Carter: ‘He's a different human being... he's a great father I’m so lucky.
‘I definitely want another child but it was also important for me to do what I love and I love to perform. I love to make music so I wanted to have my daughter. Maybe after the next tour I’ll have another baby.’
Beyonce went on to explain that her other half makes her the strong woman she is today.

She gushed: ‘I would not be the woman I am if I didn't go home to that man. We were friends first for a year and a half before we went on any date - on the phone for a year and a half.’
There’s no doubt her music mentor gave her the advice she needed to perform at the Super Bowl half time concert recently.
After some strict preparation, she told of how she celebrated making it through.
She said about her celebratory diet after the big show: ‘I had alligator, I had turtle. I had a drink with my mother for the first time. My mother doesn’t drink.’

On sharing her private thoughts with television viewers, she admits she had some qualms about it but then decided it was best to let it all out.
She tearfully revealed: ‘In the end, I just dumped it. I am no different than any woman. It just connects the dots in my life and I felt like it was just time for me to share my story. I think it's an inspiring story.
‘This documentary healed me from so many things. I feel so much stronger and I feel brave. It's like therapy and I’m a stronger person emotionally because of it.’
