Rhea Ripley DECIDED she SHOULD main event WrestleMania with Becky Lynch as an emotional America opens the closure of the Elimination Chamber in Perth with a win to set up an epic clash!

Rhea Ripley - still only 27-years-old - just drew a packed stadium in her homeland of Australia and retained her title in the main event; a title she has held for nearly a year now.

Yes, 'Mami' is a bona fide star in WWE and seemingly at the apex of her powers.

Not many stars have the chance to go home and draw 52,590 people to a stadium, much less half way around the world from their usual weekly TVs.

But Ripley did it and all week long she looked every ounce the superstar the fans celebrated.

Why Rhea Ripley Says WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth Was 'Mami's Show'

MailSport was lucky enough to catch up with the RAW Women's Champion just moments after coming backstage through the curtain and understandably, the Judgement Day member was very emotional.

'Absolutely insane,' Ripley said when asked to describe the moment.

'It's such an insane, amazing, proud moment I can't put into words exactly how I feel. I am a blubbering mess and I am so emotional at this time [laughs].

I know it's not the Rhea Ripley that we all see, so I'm letting you all into my life. I'm letting you guys see my vulnerable side of me and it's all because of you guys.

'Australia, this is my home. I'm so happy to be back, I'm so proud to be back with WWE and putting Australia on the map, showing everyone what we've got.

That was one of the loudest crowds I've competed in front of and they stayed like that the entire night. So I'm proud of Australia and I hope Australia is proud of me too.'

Ripley has had plenty of big time matchups in her career, but nothing can top main eventing a stadium show in her own country.

'It's wild. It's so wild going into this, into a PLE (premier live event) on the road to WrestleMania and this is the first time

I've been able to compete in Australia for seven years, when I competed in Riot City Wrestling, that was my last ever match.

'To come back as a WWE superstar, as the women's world champion, retain it and prove to everyone that Mami is always on top - I also proved that Australia is always on top! - it means the world to me.

'The little girl from Adelaide, South Australia could not be anymore proud. It's just so hard to put into words, but we're doing it and we're taking over. There's so much more talent in Australia that is not seen yet,' Ripley insisted.

So when will WWE return to Australia?

Under Triple H's leadership, WWE has made a point of heading to more international venues with the UK a country that gets shows annually.'I already asked him! [laughs], said Ripley with a big smile.

'I hope we come back more, I really do. Because, I would! Did you hear that crowd? They were amazing for the entire show.

Sometimes crowds get a little... ya know, over it? Because they're spoilt, they're spoilt. Come on America, you're spoilt!

'But it's so nice to be back, it felt like the Puerto Rico show for Zelina Vega except this was my turn. I hope that little gremlin is sitting at home smiling about how emotional I got because I know she's going to give me so much crap for it.'

MailSport's Alex McCarthy was able to catch up with Rhea Ripley moments after her big win

Becky Lynch won the women's Chamber tonight and thus, the chance to challenge Ripley for the world title at WrestleMania.

With Roman Reigns taking on Cody Rhodes and the latter also challenging The Rock tonight, it appears as though main event slots might be hard to come by.

Still, Ripley believes a big time matchup like herself against Lynch is deserving of a main event.

'Mami already main evented her WrestleMania, so why not do the next one as well! I think Becky Lynch and I stepping in the ring together is main event worthy, I really do,' Ripley insisted.

Triple H has shown he has no problem with putting on major shows outside of the US

'The last time we faced each other was in NXT leading up to Survivor Series and War Games. That was Mami's time to shine and it still Mami's time to shine.

Because Mami is always on top and I have proven that time and time again.

'So if we're given the opportunity, we take that opportunity to main event... I hope Becky Lynch is ready. Because she can cut me off and all that,

run her mouth about me saying I'm a lazy champion - I've just proved I'm not a lazy champion.

'I went out there and beat Nia Jax, a person that beat you, Becky.

Oh, and I also beat Lyra Valkyrie, the person who beat you for your NXT Women's championship. So that's two for two, why not make it three for three and beat you at WrestleMania?'
